Dawn, AJAX, and Palmolive soaps or Lysol spray are among the basic household recommended products. You can find other recommended store-bought products online. You’ll want to avoid using just any regular dish rags and use microfiber or terry cloth material. It’s also beneficial to have a compact vacuum to reach narrow crevices that you normally couldn’t with your hands.
Begin Sanitizing Interior
Now it’s time to get in there and clean! Make sure to wash and sanitize your hands before starting. You’ll want to begin vacuuming the interior of your vehicle to remove any excess particles. This will make the sanitation process easier and more efficient. Next, mix your soap of choice with some water in a separate container and soak your soft-material rag. Wring out any excess water and begin cleaning in a gentle circular motion to avoid rubbing off upholstery color or material. Keep in mind, it’s important to target highly-touched surface areas in your vehicle, such as:
- Center console
- Steering wheel
- Seat belt and buckle
- Door handles and vehicle door controls
- Gear shift
- Turn signal switch?
